[edit] Episode recap
While Wade is planting seeds, Booker scares him into thinking that the bull is loose. Orson is then determined to cure him from being afraid of everything, so he decides to try to hypnotize him into not being afraid. After an initial failed effort (he accidentally hypnotizes Roy and Bo instead), he indeed succeeds in hypnotizing Wade.
The hypnosis has apparently worked too well, as the gang soon finds Wade opening the bullpen to taunt the bull. Orson quickly tries to find a spell in his hypnosis book to break the hypnosis, but Roy easily remedies this by hitting Wade on the head with the book, bringing him back to normal. Bo then assures Wade that there is nothing to be afraid of, but then they realize that the gate to the bullpen is still open -- and the bull soon runs out and chases everyone.
Wade realizes that all this has happened because everyone was trying to help him, so he behaves as a bullfighter and challenges the bull. The bull then chases him, but then Orson jumps out and tries to hypnotize the bull. Just before the bull is about to attack him, the hypnosis comes into effect, and Orson then hypnotizes him into thinking he is a chicken.
Wade laments about being a coward again, but Orson, Roy and Bo cheer him up by stating that they were afraid themselves; also, they point out that Wade later tried to save them. Roy then concludes that everything is back to normal, but then Booker and Sheldon run up and eventually lead everyone to the chicken coop, where the bull (still hypnotized) is sitting on a nest clucking, surrounded by confused hens.
[edit] Notes
- Lanolin does not appear in this episode. Her character may not have been conceived yet, considering this was the first U.S. Acres filmed and she (and Bo) are absent from the original opening credits. [citation needed]
- Sheldon’s pinball game goes on TILT when Booker taps him to point out Wade.
