Talk:Yorkshire Bleeps and Bass
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A google search for this turns up 250 results. At best, this should redirect to Intelligent Dance Music. Junjk 22:17, 26 May 2005 (UTC)
It was a name used back in the day. I used it and heard of it back then - I've never mentioned it once on "Google" - so it proves little.
Just because it didn't explode worldwide; wasn't blasted out in Ibiza or wasn't profiteered to hell like Happy Hardcore - doesn't mean it should be assimilated. The music was very quickly chaging back then - as highlighted in the article.
The article is actually very incorrect in that it says it's a new name. The name had existed since the very early 1990s and has a few LPs out under those names in the very early 1990s also. I personally used it back in 1991 - just "Bleeps and Bass".
Why should it suddenly inherit another name that never existed back then and that for some reason you don't want the article reflecting history as it was.
Besides, this other bit as per wiki >
"IDM - more for listening than dancing."
Hmm... not really Bleeps N Bass then when they played this stuff at raves and people are dancing on Top Of The Pops on TV to it then, eh? --Revolt 8 July 2005 13:01 (UTC)
