From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Camp Manito-wish, YMCA, located near Boulder Junction, WI on Boulder Lake, was founded in 1919 by Walter "Daddy" Wones, and has grown since them to become both a wilderness summer camp and a facility offering youth and leadership programs. Its mission is to have its participants grow in four aspects of their lives: wisdom, stature, favor with God, and favor with one another. It is an independent, YMCA affiliated camp, which offers programming ranging from a one-week summer camp, including wilderness trips of length proportional to camper age, to an Outpost Program which offers longer, more remote trips to older campers, to the Leadership Program, which offers training in leadership and facilitation to participants of all ages and backgrounds. Manito-wish also offers classes for certification in Wilderness First Aid and Wilderness First Responder.
