Ylenia Carrisi, an Italian TV celebrity by virtue of being actor Tyrone Power's and his wife, actress Linda Christian granddaughter, and the letter-turner on Italy's version of Wheel of Fortune. She was born in Rome on November 29, 1970, the eldest daughter of Albano Carrisi and Romina Power

[edit] Disappearance

Ylenia disappeared under mysterious circumstances while visiting New Orleans, Louisiana on January 6, 1994. She was last seen in the city's French Quarter area sometime during the month. Ylenia has never been heard from again.

At the time of her disappearance, Ylenia was staying in the LeDale Hotel with street musician Alaxander Masakela. Masakela was arrested on January 31, but eventually released for lack of evidence to connect him to Ylenia's disappearance.

The only other possible lead was a security guard who saw a woman, vaguely matching her description, jump into the Mississippi River. A Coast Guard search turned up no sign of the young woman's body, which may have been washed out to sea; and it has never been established that the person was in fact Ylenia, however.

The efforts of the police in order to find her did not bring a result. There have been bizarre sightings of her, Elvis-like in the excitement they generate, which are reported frequently in European tabloids, especially in Italy. Her mother still believes she's alive while, in November 2006, Albano stated for the first time that he believed the security guard's story. [1]
