Yerrinbool, New South Wales

Yerrinbool is a village in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia, in Wingecarribee Shire. It has a population of around 1000[1] and is accessible from the Hume Highway (via Bargo or Alpine) and is about 15km drive from nearby Mittagong.

It has CityRail railway services with the Yerrinbool Railway Station and the small Yerrinbool General Store is located opposite. Community facilities include a community hall, Fire Station and an Anzac memorial nearby.

The name Yerrinbool is an Aboriginal word for the Wood Duck[2] — a species which is quite common around the ponds in Yerrinbool.
