Welcome to Wikipedia Yendor, I've posted some generic information above, but in response to your question about the email notice. We have this notice at several locations throughout the site. Email confirmation is a brand new process for everyone, and we want to make sure the word got out so people wouldn't miss their emails. Most of the notices will be removed in about a week. To verify your confirmation status go to: Special:Preferences and look at the section for E-Mail, it should look something like this:

E-mail
Your e-mail address was authenticated on 2006-03-04 04:11:41.
[x] Enable e-mail from other users

If it has the "was authenticated" part on it, then you are done, and can ignore the various notes around the site. If you have any other questions, let me know. -- xaosflux Talk/CVU 01:22, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
