Yellow Quill First Nation

The Yellow Quill First Nation (formerly Nut Lake Indian Reserve) occupies the Yellow Quill Reserve #90, which is situated eight (8) Kilometers east of Rose Valley, SK, Canada. The reserve covers 14,000 acres (57 km²). In addition, there are 17,000 acres (69 km²) in newly acquired Treaty Land Entitlement lands. The Yellow Quill First Nation is a signatory of Treaty No. 4, which was signed by Chief Yellow Quill on August 24, 1876.
Yellow Quill operates Yellow Quill Health Centre, Nawigizigweyas School (K-12), Yellow Quill Daycare, Yellow Quill Water Treatment Plant, Yellow Quill Store, and the Band Office, all of which are on reserve. They are a member of Saskatoon Tribal Council and have their urban offices in Saskatoon, SK as well as their Tribal Council offices. At last count, Yellow Quill had 800+ members on reserve and 1200+ off reserve. They are Saulteaux Indians and have very strong cultural beliefs.
