The Yellow-billed Pintail (Anas georgica) is a dabbling duck of the genus Anas. The yellow-billed pintail is a dabbling duck of the genus anas and its range extends from South Columbia through to South Georgia, which lends its name to the species. The nominate race A. g. georgica is thought to number between 1000 and 1500 pairs, A. g. spinicauda is thought to number well over 110,000 and A.g. niceforoi is thought to be extinct, last being recorded in 1952 but only being described in 1940. The species is sometimes confused with speckled teal, but can be differentiated by the yellow stripes on the bill, its larger size and that it does not tend to form large groups.
