Yeah Right! Is a skateboarding video by Girl Skateboards, directed by Ty Evans and Spike Jonze. It is notable for its soundtrack and extensive use of video editing and other gags.

The introduction credits for the video feature a unique series of shots in slow motion. The camera is low to the ground and very close to the skateboarder as various flip tricks are completed.

Throughout the video, there are many special effects used. The first one seen is on the title clip, where a skateboarder pushes up to a ramp, goes up into the air and clears an entire road. As he lands, skateboarder Brandon Biebel shouts, "Yeah Right!"

A few minutes into the video, a skateboard is shown sitting alone on pavement. All of a sudden, it has been given the effect of moving away on its own. This sequence continues as the skateboard moves from shot to shot, and is passed between different skateboarders around the city. For example, one skateboarder will pick up the board and throw it out of the camera shot. As it leaves the first shot, a new shot appears and it is as if the skateboard was thrown directly to the person who catches the board while standing in this new shot.

A cameo is made by Owen Wilson halfway through the video. He is in a parking lot with a couple skateboarders preparing to jump down a staircase. By framing the camera very carefully, it appears that Wilson attempts the leap on the skateboard down the staircase. However, while the camera was looking the opposite direction for a moment, Wilson has slipped out of the picture and was replaced with Eric Koston who is wearing a wig and matching clothes. Koston completes the trick and Wilson reappears in the shot to make it look like he completed the trick.

[edit] Trivia

  • Three cameras were damaged beyond repair during the course of shooting.
  • Owen Wilson's part is actually Eric Koston in a blonde wig and matching clothes.
  • Each skateboarder with a full section in the video performed an insane trick using a ramp, which was keyed out or removed during the editing process.
