Yazid ibn Abu Sufyan was one of the companions of the Islamic prophet Muhammad.

Yazid ibn Abu Sufyan was the son of Abu Sufyan ibn Harb, who was also the father of Muawiya [1].
Yazid was made governor by Umar, but died in a plague in 18 AH (638–639 CE)
