Yasumicon is a free convention held by FIU's Anything Goes Anime club which was started in 2003. Yasumicon is also the first anime convention in Miami, at Florida International University. "Yasumi" which is the Japanese word for vacation(as well as sick or absent) gives the convention its fun and carefree attitude and its commitment to having fun and making the best experience possible.
Yasumicon is run by unpaid volunteers.
