Yasuhito Endo (遠藤 保仁 Endō Yasuhito?, born January 28, 1980) is a Japanese footballer from Kagoshima City in Kagoshima Prefecture. Short and stocky, the versatile midfielder usually operates as a defensive midfielder, and currently plays for the J-league team Gamba Osaka. Since 2003, Endo has been a member of the Japanese national football team, and has been selected for Japan's 2006 World Cup squad.
He has emerged as a key player in defensive midfield for the national team in recent seasons, where his two-way skills, both in defending and attacking, is highly valued.
