[edit] Biography
For the first 15 years of his drumming career, Yanic was self taught. Later on, in 2004, he began to work with Spastic Ink drummer Bobby Jarzombek and Keith Brown, Professor in the Faculty of Music at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, in order to further his skills. Yanic's most notable accomplishment is drumming for technical melodic death metal band Quo Vadis, which won the Canadian Metal Album of the Year Award from Chart Attack in 2001. Yanic has also been featured in Modern Drummer magazine, which made numerous remarks on his playing, "…This guy can play, as his blinding chop infestations and shifting time signatures on 'In Contempt' and 'To The Bitter End' demonstrate…" (August 2005 issue). Yanic is also highly educated; he has a Ph.D. in Physics and a M.Sc. in Medical Physics from McGill University in Montreal, and a Bachelor of Engineering Physics from École Polytechnique de Montréal.
