Yanggakdo Hotel is one of the largest and most luxurious hotels in North Korea. It is located on Yanggakdo Island, in Pyongyang, the capital of the country. It is 47 stories tall and boasts a revolving restaurant at the top. Geographical coordinates are 38°59′56.16″N, 125°45′4.15″E It was built in the 1980s by a French company and opened in 1995. It is 4 km southeast of the city center. A nine-hole golf course, driving range, and casino are located on the grounds. Rooms located higher up in the building cost more than those in the lower part.
