[edit] Music videos
- Rouhi Ya Rouhi
Rouhi Ya Rouhi (English: My Soul, Oh My Soul) was released in August 2005. The video for this song was directed by Tarek al Aryan and showed a woman who had fallen out with her partner/husband. In the video, her partner has moved out and she feels alone without him. She wants him to come back home and sets about doing this by sending him a video message in the form of a DVD that his colleague plays for him in a meeting at work. She then makes a massive graffiti outside his office on the road that reads in arabic 'come back to your house'. In the end, she wins him over and he returns to her.
- Shou Akhbarak
The second single to be made into a video was Shou Akhbarak (English: How are you/What is your news). This was a released as a single in January 2006 and was also accompanied by a music video. The music video to this song was directed by Randa Alam and was shot in Lebanon. The story line revolves around an unknown singer who has dreams and ambitions to be a star one day. She is happily in love , when one day she receives a fax from a production company informing her that she was chosen to be thier new uprising star, and they plan to produce her new album. But this will involve her leaving her lover behind and travelling away for a long period of time, which causes sort of distress between them. The clip involves flash backs to the wonderful times they had together.
- Yama Alou
The title track of the album, Yama Alou (English: They Have Always Said) had a music video that was shot in Beirut, Lebanon in mid June 2006. It was the 3rd song from the album to be made into a music video, and began to air on Mazzika TV prior to the release of the album. The video clip was directed by Randa Alam. In the music video, Nawal spreads a music video through means of a virus. She is a hacker and gets into trouble with the Lebanese Security Forces. The virus spreads into the control panels of electronic screen boards/ billboards in the streets of beirut. The virus is also sent from her phone to the mobile phone networks across the country. The viewers of the song like the video so much to the extent that they all gather to defend her from the police who arrest her for her crime.
