[edit] Scene

This painting depicts the court of Yamaraja, the deva in charge of punishing the sinful souls after death. The souls are dragged in their subtle bodies by the Yamadutas, the servants of Yamaraja. They are fearful creatures who bring the sinful souls in front of their lord for judgment. Yamaraja will then determine what body the soul will receive next.
