Yalo (woreda)

Yalo is one of the 31 woredas in the Afar Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Administrative Zone 4, Yalo is located at the base of the eastern escarpment of the Ethiopian highlands, and bordered on the south by Gulina, on the west by the Amhara Region, on the north by the Administrative Zone 2, and on the east by Teru. The major town in Yalo is Dibina.

Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 25,494, of whom 11,236 were males and 14,258 were females; 1,370 or 5.37% of its population are urban dwellers, which is greater than the Zone average of 1.6%. Information is not available for the area of Yalo, so its density cannot be calculated.[1]
