Yahir Othon

Yahir Othón Parra, commonly known as Yahir, is a Mexican singer who was born on March 21, 1979 in Hermosillo, Sonora. He began his career as one of the participants in the music reality show "La Academia" in 2002 and is perhaps the most popular singer to come out of the show. He has recorded three hit albums, Yahir (2002), Historia de amor featuring backup vocals from legendary American vocalist Luke Loftiss (2004) and No te apartes de mí (2005) (2006) "Con el alma entre las manos"topped the Mexican charts.
Yahir is also a television actor for TV Azteca, having appeared in two telenovelas. Yahir's debut in the telenovela world was through "Enamorate"(2003) opposite Martha Higareda in which he played "Yahir Jimenez" a son of a prominent business man. After "Enamorate" he started in "Soñaras" (You Will Dream) playing "Rey" a charismatic young musician who is a waiter at the bar he plays at after his shift. His co star was Vanessa Acosta. Yahir was sentimentally involved with Acosta during the recording of the Soap Opera. During the course of the soap opera the female protagonist was replaced by Sandra Echeverria and Acosta was out of the telenovela. It has been rumored that the female who took her place was later involved with Yahir romantically just as it happened with his other co-star.
Yahir has a son named Tristan Yahir Othon Fierro. He currently lives with his mother Jacqueline Fierro who was Yahir's girlfriend during his teenage years.
