From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yaba is a suburb of Lagos, Nigeria. Yaba, an area forming part of the Lagos Mainland Local Government(the other being Ebute-Metta), is also a commercial part of Lagos. It also has an history which may not be as old as its neighbours. like Otto and Lagos Island or preferrably Eko. It consisted of rather no more visible villages which due to rapid development have become places with a better defined identity. Areas like Makoko and Iwaya are areas still coming from behind with structures that seems out of place in a trendy region. Sabo and Lagos' premier girls' school, Queens College is located there.
