Yūbari, Hokkaidō

Yūbari (夕張市; -shi) is a city located in Sorachi, Hokkaido, Japan.

As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 13,766 and the density of 18.03 persons per km². The total area is 763.36 km².

The city was founded on April 1, 1943.

The city is famous for melon and for the now-defunct Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival.
