[edit] XR-8 Syncopter, 1944

This is a placeholder for the XR-8 Syncopter, which the United States Army had developed in 1944, but abandoned production after an important test pilot was killed during a test flight. This helipcopter is relevant in the history of military aircraft because it was one of the rare models of helicopters that had no rear rotor.
