Some stats on my edits here and from mathbot.

I believe in the Big Bang and the biggest since that one. I also believe that we should discuss religions with the same respect and freedom as we do with any other personal subject.

I will never forget Turn Left.

[edit] Wikipedia Politicking

I see Wikipedia as a melting pot or a rainbow, where people of all stripes come together to provide free information for all. To that end, it is vital that we understand where everyone comes from. To delete userboxes in user space would be detrimental to that effort. Inflammatory content, however, should be deleted.

[edit] Buffy rant

I love the series and have put much work into related articles. However, I feel that "innovative" episodes like Hush (those monsters are campy in a low-budget horror-movie way), Restless, The Body (8 Simple Rules dealt with a real death much better, at least in the third and fourth episode after their tragedy) and Once More, With Feeling are original only because they don't contribute to a show. They only prove to me the lack of attention the series otherwise received after Joss Whedon started other series and the carelessness with which it was often handled, especially in season four.

The first one and a half season of Buffy is very intelligent. It lacks the narrative discipline required of a top series, but makes up for it with an extremely witty look at adolescent angst. The second half of season two ended with one of the best movie/TV conclusions I've ever seen, on the par with Twelve Monkeys, because it took no shortcuts or easy, happy ending. Season three was TV history for its focus and plot, ending with a big bang. I skipped most of season four because I'd rather watch paint dry. Season five opened with bikini-clad actresses, and that pretty much summed it up except for some good Glory action. The show improved after it moved to UPN, but I never could get over the fact that the diff between demons and humans were blurred to such an extent by Spike's chip.

The early seasons were terrific because even though Angelus and Faith were bad, it didn't make it any easier to confront them (should Angel's soul be restored? does he need to pay for the crimes of his demon soul? what should be done about Faith?). Then the writers decided that they could only create similar moral dilemmas by, say, ignoring the fact that Spike was evil and could not love anything (check out his relationship with Drusilla).

And don't get me started on Whedon's self-congratulatory salute on the final Buffy DVD. For the record, I thought Serenity was a rather clichéd movie.
