Xi Puppis (ξ Pup) is a star of magnitude +3.34 in the constellation Puppis. It also has the traditional name Asmidiske (Azmidiske). Note that the name is also used for ι Carinae.
Asmidiske has a 13th magnitude companion at an apparent distance of 5".1 while it may also be a spectroscopic binary.
