XESURF-AM is a Mexican radio station known on air as Country 540, and simulcasts most of it's programming with Los Angeles radio station KKGO. The antenna is located in Tijuana south of the Otay Mesa border crossing. The present transmitter site is near the toll-road to the west of Tijuana, Mexico.

540 underwent a recent format change, as Mount Wilson Broadcasting announced on October 28, 2006, XESURF flipped to Country music to fill the Country Music void left by Country KZLA's flip to Rhythmic AC. 540's signal is heard throughout much of Southern California, including the San Diego and Los Angeles metropolitan areas. XESURF is not the only station in the San Diego/Tijuana area that broadcasts country music-- Clear Channel Communications-owned KUSS 95.7 and Lincoln Financial Media's KSON-FM 97.3/KSOQ 92.1 also broadcast the format from San Diego, California.

Back in the 1950s, 540 kHz was home to KFMB. When KFMB moved up the dial to 760 kHz the government broadcast authorities in the U.S. and Mexico reserved 540 kHz for a Mexico-based radio station, such as 540 Country.

XESURF and KKGO are the San Diego / Tijuana and Los Angeles radio homes of California Golden Bears college football.
