[edit] Raw data of image

Greetings Xanthine! Can you provide me with the raw data you used to create this image http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Island-of-Stability.png? Thanks! 81.70.212.33 10:33, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, do you mean the actual empirical data used to draw out the graph, or the vector image data? I notice the tag requesting an SVG version, which would be no problem for me to take care of... --Xanthine 10:50, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
Ok, .svgz file created. It's about 10 times the filesize, and took a little adjustment (seeing as SVG doesn't support transparent objects). My apologies - I'm afraid I seem to have, rather embarrassingly, discarded all data files I used in the original creation of this image, though I'm fairly sure I acquired them all though Google. --Xanthine 11:38, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
Aha... On attempting to upload this, I've found that Wikipedia doesn't accept .svgz files. The uncompressed .svg file is almost 2 megabytes in size, which seems highly impractical to me. Leaving this as a .png file for now. --Xanthine 11:53, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
The image looks very neat, may I ask with what program you created it? Too bad you lost the original data, but the graph seems to be accurate. A very fine addition to the article indeed! Thanks for your effort :) Albester 22:13, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
You're very welcome. :) The image was created entirely using Adobe Illustrator CS, and plenty of attention to detail. And thanks, I'm glad you like it! --Xanthine 10:30, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image use

Dunno if you were aware or not, but LLNL used your island of stability image (credited to you of course) in one of their press releases about element 118: http://www.llnl.gov/pao/news/news_releases/2006/NR-06-10-03.html

I'd think kudos are in order, that seems like an important place to be recognized! Canonymous 23:49, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

Wow! I didn't know that, thank you very much for telling me! :) --Xanthine 08:56, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
