[edit] A mess
This template is a ridiculous, cluttered mess. Gene Nygaard 00:18, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
The brief description of each plane was helpful when it was part of the X-planes page only. gparker 07:02, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
- It is part of the xplane pages only. I have restored the template as there is currently no way to get from xplane to xplane. -Ravedave (help name my baby) 03:26, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] X-Series only
The article is about planes in the DoD's X-series of aircraft designations (see 1962 United States Tri-Service aircraft designation system), currently X-1 through X-51. There have been other types of experimental aircraft, such as the Chance-Vought/LTV XC-142A. However, the XC-142 is in the Cargo-series; it was intended to be put into eventual production. As all other aircraft in the X-plane list are in the X-series, and the list is fairly long already, I believe it is best to leave the XC-142 off of this list. --BillCJ 03:40, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
- Agree. // Duccio 09:55, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
List of experimental aircraft lists US experimental aircraft in the other designation series (XA, XB, etc.) The XC-142 is under the XC category. BTW, the list does need more work, particularly XC and XP. --BillCJ 15:46, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
