Wyverns in the Warcraft computer game are flying beasts that Thrall first encounters in the Barrens, where he originally sought an entrance to the cave where he would find the Oracle, which was mentioned to him by Medivh, the Last Guardian. As Tauren chieftain Cairne BloodHoof's, outrunners reported some captured Wyverns, Cairne told Thrall about these creatures, and the WarChief saw a chance to tame the beasts and train them to be ridden into battle. In Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, Orc Spearmen riding these proud beasts are named Wind Riders. In World of WarCraft Wyvern are one of the main modes of transportation for The Horde between cities and villages. After the conflicts against the foes of the Horde, the Wyvern were seldom seen in battle.
