WXMS-LP (channel 27) was an independent station in Jackson, Mississippi. The station began broadcasting in December, 1999.

From December, 1999 to October, 2001, WXMS was affiliated with The WB and UPN. The WB was WXMS's primary affiliation while UPN was its secondary affiliation.

On October 7, 2001, WXMS became a primary UPN affiliate (after ceding The WB to sister station WDBD, which had defected from Fox).

On January 1, 2006, WXMS became an independent station, after losing the UPN affiliation to WRBJ. The station remains on the air and continues to operate as an independent station, while ownership prepared to change the affiliation of the other two stations it owns: WDBD to Fox and WUFX to My Network TV.

Sometime in 2006 or 2007, WXMS is expected to go dark, while WBMS continues WXMS programming.
