WVYC

WVYC is an FCC licensed College Radio station, that transmits on an FM frequency of 99.7Mhz. The station broadcasts from the Robert V. Iosue Student Union Building on the campus of York College of Pennsylvania in York, PA. WVYC is unique as one of only a handful of stations in the United States that also broadcasts using a carrier current frequency to the campus. Both stations stream audio on the Web. WVYC began broadcasting on November 18th, 1976 with the inauguration of College President, Robert V. Iosue. The broadcast day was from 4pm to midnight.
WVYC is the only class D educational, non-commercial FM station in southern Pennsylvania. It has a free-form alternative music block format, include modern alternative rock and Latin music. WVYC's slogan is: "York's Only True Alternative".
The station is operated entirely by students with a faculty advisor overseeing the daily operations.
