WVFJ-FM ("J 93", 93.3 MHz) is an Atlanta, GA radio station. Since 1998, it has played Christian music. Its city of license is Manchester, Georgia.
Atlanta's J93.3 is a Contemporary Christian radio station that serves Atlanta and has listeners in the nearby metro areas of Columbus and Macon, GA. The station is owned and operated by Provident Broadcasting Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Watkins Associated Industries, Incorporated. Our mission is to provide wholesome family programming filled with joy, hope, and encouragement.
On February 13, 1981 Atlanta businessman Bill Watkins and his wife Joyce founded Provident Broadcasting Company in order to create a broadcast ministry for the benefit of Christian believers and those seeking spiritual inspiration. WVFJ (J93.3) was their first station in this new ministry. In 1998, J93.3 moved from the small community of Manchester into Atlanta as Metro Atlanta's first Contemporary Christian radio station.
Because J93.3 was founded as a ministry, that is its first priority. Unlike every other commercial station in the Atlanta metro, profitability is WVFJ's 2nd priority. However, the station performs well when you look at the south and west sides of the Atlanta metro area, making it the most efficient media outlet in those areas.
The future is very bright for WVFJ listeners, as a tower move and power increase will soon bring the station to the north side of Atlanta as well.
