WTHS
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
WTHS, a high school news studio in Troy, OH, can be described as a growing foundation found in other high schools as well.
[edit] History
Starting in 2004, WTHS has grown with journalists. Even from around the community of Troy, OH, many higher ranking news stations, like WHIO-TV, declare that even a growing news station WTHS may be, chances are it will also inspire other news stations in high schools to get even better.
Jason Pfoutz, now sports director of the studio, and Jeff Owen, director of WTHS, were just two people who took the jobs first and then attracted more people. Kial Smith became one news anchor along with a few others including Jason Pfoutz, weatherman, to change the face of Troy High School indefinitely.
But, not so much the people as it was the news program itself. All of the anchors had great charisma, in which most students never thought they would see in that high school.
Later 2005, WTHS, gained more people, and retained some like State Thespian Officer and star anchor from the previous year, Allen Henry, and even Matt Mohr, who created a music video portraying the death of his mother. The whole school was in shock by music videos and movies created from WTHS. A project in a news studio is described as something that draws the viewers attention. That is exactly what Jeff Owen, Director, wanted to do.
Now, in 2006, star anchors like Allen Henry, Natasha Cox, Heather Lowe, and Jason Pfoutz are the lead anchors in the daily program at Troy High School. Currently, WTHS is working on bringing more professional products in their studio, like news desks, and even chroma-key cameras.
[edit] Bosco Sticks Fun
William Chavis, currently the assistant sports director, had a fad with Bosco Sticks, starting in 2004, and even to this day. William Chavis is still doing funny skits on TV about Bosco Sticks and it excites the viewers to buy the product.
Some viewers, however have been some what tired of Bosco Sticks skits. These people are rather quiet about it because the comedy of the skits is sometimes well-done.
