WSKRS
WSKRS (pronounced "whiskers") is an acronym which stands for "Wireless Sea Knowledge Retrieval Satellites". They are submerged mobile sensor probes used by seaQuest in the science fiction television series "seaQuest DSV" (NBC, 1993-96). The WSKRS provided telemetry data for the submarine, essentially operating as the "eyes and ears" of the ship, and were operated by Sensor Chief Miguel Ortiz, played by Marco Sanchez.
Three WSKRS were usually deployed around the seaQuest: Mother (#1), Junior (#2), and Loner (#3).
