[edit] History

Wraith joined a temporary X-Men team formed by Jean Grey when most of the other X-Men were captured by Magneto. Wraith's mutant power is his transparent skin. However, he is able to displace the effects of his powers by making others look transparent to him and appearing normal to others, which proves to be severely disorientating. Jean theorised that had his powers been allowed to evolve, he would have been able to render himself and others completely invisible. He was shown to be depowered in New Avengers #18.

[edit] Powers

Wraith can turn either his skin transuculant or others' skin transuclent.

[edit] Notes

  • Brian DeWolff, brother of Jean DeWolff, was mutated by advanced technology procured by his father and became the Wraith. His original form was destroyed by the Scourge of the Underworld but he transferred his mind into the body of another. He first appeared in Marvel Team-Up vol. 1 #48
  • In the Hyborian Era, there was a white wolf named Wraith that was an agent of Ranelphi. It first appeared in Savage Sword of Conan #8 and was slain by Conan in that same issue.
  • Todd LeBeau, an amalgam of Marvel's Gambit and DC's Obsidian, is known as Wraith. He was a member or the JLX and first appeared in JLX #1.
