[edit] Editing problems
WP: there seems to be a problem with some of your edits, in that you are replacing symbols with codes for symbols. Among other effects this messes up formatting tags such as comment start and stop indicators (see your recent edits to The Beatles for example). Jgm 19:54, 7 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Swedish election 2006
I see you've added a comment to add the current positions of the parties in Parliament but that information is already in the article. Let me know what you were thinking... - Jord 14:51, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Ludvig Strigeus
A biographical article you have recently written may not meet Wikipedia's generally accepted criteria for inclusion of biographies. It has likely been marked for deletion. Don't worry, there are several other options:
- Create an entry for yourself on one of the many social networking websites.
- Many ISPs allow you to create your own website, often at no extra charge.
With the above options your biography will be protected from being edited by others, unlike a Wikipedia article.
- You may create a wiki at EditThis.info or one of the other wiki farms.
- If you are attempting to make an entry for genealogical purposes, you may find WikiTree.org a useful site (but please do not simply copy material to Wikitree unless you are the original author - their license terms are different from Wikipedia's).
- If you are, or intend to become, a regular Wikipedia contributor, please use your user page (user:WP) to post biographical information about yourself.

Please help improve it to featured article standard.

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Lr_route.png
Thanks for uploading Image:Lr_route.png. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: TemplateName
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. -- Carnildo 11:25, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

I noticed that you have placed a merge tag on SKY Network Television and Optus Fleet of Satellites. Could you please provide some reasons on either talk page. Evil Monkey - Hello 22:14, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot 22:54, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hello, vandal!
Why did you vandalize the Los Angeles D-League page? I tried to put it back the way it was before you screwed it up, and it doesn't work. What's more, your clarity tag is all that shows up in the edit history. Thanks to you, it's a mess! YOU ARE THE ULTIMATE VANDAL! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by M. [edit] User:Bartik removed your deletion tag from article Alan Freeman(Kalamazoo)
I'm not quite sure what's going on here. His first article, Alex Biles, looked okay but got speedied. He then made Alan Freeman(Kalamazoo), which you also tagged for speedy deletion, and which he got around by removing the tag. He then made AFree to support something written in his Alan Freeman article. He also added Alan Freeman to the article on Kalamazoo, Michigan.

[edit] New Zealand Sign Language
Hi, I'm not sure whether your statement about NZSL being the first official sign language is entirely correct. I know that BSL has been officially recognised in the UK for quite a while, but I'm not sure on the exact details. --Avxxv 13:31, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging for Image:Mandy Tam baptism.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Mandy Tam baptism.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Use of stub is no longer recommended
Hello,
Thank you for your stub submission. You may wish to note that it is preferable to use a stub template from Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Stub types instead of using simply stub, if you can.

[edit] Chinese name for Seoul
I've reverted you deletion of 漢城 (Hànchéng) from Names of Asian cities in different languages. The Chinese term 漢城 (Hànchéng) for Seoul cannot yet be considered obsolete. While the Korean authorities declared several years ago that 首爾 (Shǒu’ěr) was their preferred translation, this request was reciprocated at official levels by Chinese and has not seen widespread adoption by the general public. (See Seoul article for some info). Although this situation might change in the future, the 漢城 (Hànchéng) is still the primary way many Chinese refer to the city. AjaxSmack 05:21, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] World Cup Sponsorship AfD
Hi, I just wanted to tell you that I’ve made some rather large additions to 2006 FIFA World Cup sponsorship and would appreciate if you could take a look at them and possibly reconsider your comment at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2006 FIFA World Cup sponsorship. I thought it was a worthy topic, even though it had a wretched article, so I added information about revenue and the sponsorship process, the sponsor related controversies of this World Cup (tickets distribution, Budweiser in Germany, Mcdonalds at a sporting event), and took out the copyvios. Please take a look. Thanks! Vickser 19:42, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Hoi polloi
Thanks for changing the quote style at hoi polloi. I was not aware of that kind of quote style, proving yet again that you can learn something new everyday. I also thank you for your comments about the article. I have changed the image format and moved the wiktionary box. They were both good suggestions. Best, Johntex\talk 06:54, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] SVG Format
How is it possible to save it as SVG? I can save it as PNG, but the thumbs are still JPEG (I guess) Anyway, please inform me how to do so, and how is it possible. -- Omernos 16:57, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
- I got the same comment on my recent FAC. It should be noted by WP and those that push this - there is a significant difference between an SVG and a JPG or PNG. SVG is based on Vector graphics and computes the image using math. This is very different from a JPG or PNG that is based on Raster graphics or pixels. This is why SVG graphics resize without quality loss. This is all great if you have a vector graphics editor and want to recreate the images from scratch. You can not convert one to the other. I think opposing based on this makes no sense. It might be worth a comment if that. The PNG format does not always produce the smallest file size and in many cases JPG is a better option. It is even recommended that "only convert it to PNG if this reduces the file size without causing artifacts". See Wikipedia:How to reduce colors for saving a JPEG as PNG on how to convert for the best results. Again, this is a recommendation and should only be a comment. Converting JPG to PNG is not a huge deal. Forcing someone to create a new graphic in a completely different format (SVG) is nonsense. Morphh 23:51, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Boy Scouts of America membership controversies
At the FAC discussion you asked "why is the ACLU logo there?". The short answer is that we were having a hard time finding images for the article, and the ACLU logo was one we could come up with. By you question, were you suggesting it should be moved to elsewhere in the article , or that we should remove it entirely? .. Anything to get your vote. --Alecmconroy 02:14, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Signature tip (or how to save two bites a page).
Many article titles are disambiguated with parenthetic qualifiers, like this: Self (psychology). But when you want to include such a link in the body of an article, this would look rather awkward. So all you have to do is use the "pipe trick", like this: Self (psychology). Notice the "|" character stuck in there at the end of the link? That makes the link look like this: Self, without having to type the name of the link after the pipe!
This trick also works with namespaces, so that Wikipedia:Tip of the day (again notice the pipe character) displays like this: Tip of the day.

[edit] Libya
Hello,
Regarding changing maps and the seal from jpeg to a suitable format on the Libya page, that has now been done. Could you now please reconsider your objection to the article being featured.
Thanks very much,

[edit] Question on your oppostion to the Bears FAC
What is SVG? What does the logo, helmet, and uniform being in SVG have anything to do with it being a feature article? --Happyman22 17:42, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
- Not one featured pro sports article uses SVG, but if you want me to use it I will, but they me how can I create an SVG image and where can I get the program. --Happyman22 15:12, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:BrandHK.PNG)
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:BrandHK.PNG. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 19:54, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ohio Wesleyan University
Quick question regarding the Ohio Wesleyan University. You left a very helpful comment regarding the page candidacy back in July. Since then, a lot of the issues that you mentioned have been improved on. Could you take a look and tell me what are some of the major areas that still need work and what work exactly? I'd greatly appreciate it! WikiprojectOWU 18:44, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

3 months ago you noted some problems with the content and formating on the page. I am working with user:Bluedog423 on improving some of its formatting and content.
