Yu-Gi-Oh! 7 Trials of Glory: World Championship 2005
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Yu-Gi-Oh! 7 Trials to Glory: World Championship 2005 (or Yu-Gi-Oh! Day of the duelist: World Championship 2006, as it is known as in Australia) is another game in the series of Yu-Gi-Oh video games made by Konami. The game is initially an RPG with strategy mixed in, in the form of the in-game dueling that plays the main role in this game. Your character is a miscellaneous civilian in "Battle city", starting out as a duelist.

[edit] Gameplay
Yu-Gi-Oh! combines a weak yet easy to follow storyline with "duels", the word for a battle or match against a person using Yu-Gi-Oh cards. These "duels" begin with both players playing a quick game of Rock, Paper, Scissors. The winner then gets to decide which player will go first; himself/herself or his/her opponent. Both players shuffle their "deck" of cards (a deck consisting of 40+ Yu-Gi-Oh cards: an assortment of Spells, Traps, Monsters and fake cards) and draw five cards each. The player that begins the duel draws on more card and can set and summon monsters, as well as set and activate Spell and Trap cards (if their requirements are fulfilled). The player going first cannot attack until his or her second turn. After the first player has completed his turn the other player draws and can also play Spells, set Traps and summon Monsters. The duel will go on like this, with monsters attacking and each player lowering their opponent's life points. A victor can emerge in four ways.
- The player whose life points drop to zero first loses.
- The player who has ran out of cards in their deck first loses.
- If at any time a player has all five Parts of Exodia in their hand, they win.
- If at any time a player has all five Destiny Board letters on their side of the field at once, they win.
The winner of a casual duel in Yu-Gi-Oh! 7 Trials to Glory: World Championship 2005 receives an amount of "DP" according to different winning statistics from their battle. DP is the in-game currency, used to enter "tournaments" and buy "booster packs" of cards from the Card Shop. I.e Win duels-Get "DP"-Buy more cards-Get better cards-Win more duels-Get "DP"-...
[edit] Tournaments
Tournaments are competitions where you duel players in "Match Duels". A match duel is actually two to three duels in a row, as it is a best out of three. The higher you get in the ladder the more prize "DP"!
[edit] Password machine
Along with buying cards, you can use the Password Machine to insert cards from real life into their game as digital remakes. For 1000 "DP", a player can enter a password from the bottom-left hand corner of most Yu-Gi-Oh cards. In Yu-Gi-Oh! 7 Trials to Glory: World Championship 2005 you can input cards from the Legend of Blue-Eyes-White Dragon set to Invasion of Chaos, but for unknown reasons some cards do not work in this game (for example Dark Paladin). To top these "utilities" if you may, a player can both trade and duel against another person who has the game (with the use of a Link Cable, sold separately) therefore giving this game the possible asset of being "friendship friendly".
[edit] Bonus cards
Included with the game are three cards for the real-life Yu-Gi-Oh trading card game:
- Silent Swordsman Lv7 (Light/Warrior/Effect/*******)
- Mind Control (Spell)
- Kaibaman (Light/Warrior/Effect/***)
