Worshipful Company of Fruiterers

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Worshipful Company of Fruiterers is one of the Livery Companies of the City of London. The Company was founded in 1463 and received a Royal Charter in 1605.

In its early years, the Company was responsible for the inspection of fruit imported into the City. At present, it retains a connection to the trade, instead of becoming a charitable institution, as many other Livery Companies have done.

The Company ranks forty-fifth in the order of precedence of Livery Companies. Its motto is Deus Dat Incrementum, Latin for God Gives the Increase.
