For the village in Hertfordshire see Wormley, Hertfordshire.
Wormley is a village in Surrey, England. (grid reference SU948383) It is not a village in the conventional sense - largely consisting of a scattering of houses on the A283 Petworth Road between Witley and Chiddingfold. Wormley developed primarily as a result of the construction of Witley station, in the 19th century, on the main London Waterloo to Portsmouth line. Its best known building is probably King Edward's School. Wormley has one Post office and a garage. These are the only shops in the village.
Wormley originates from the Anglo-Saxon English for 'break'. This is the village's name due to the break in the forest in Saxon Times where the village now exists.
