The Worm Lizard (Rhineura floridana) is a North American member of the family Amphisbaenidae. It can be found on the Florida peninsula and is 18–35 cm (7–12 inches) long.
It has no limbs or external eyes and ears and creates a burrow in soil sand or leaf mold. It will back into this burrow tail first when disturbed.
