World War III (Der 3. Weltkrieg), is a German television movie Released 1998. It shows what might have happened if, after the Soviets opened fire on demonstrators in Berlin in the fall of 1989, the world has descended into a Third World War. Using mostly real people from this time, such as Helmut Kohl and Mikhail Gorbachev, the movie attempts to show the situation as realistically as possible to reveal the dire consequences of a Third World War.
