World Stone

The World Stone is part of the Diablo Mythos. It is said to be a physical link between Heaven, Hell, and the Mortal Realm. It is also the origins of each soulstone, the stones intended to imprison the souls of the Prime Evils, Diablo, Mephisto, and Baal. The World Stone is resting in Mount Arreat, guarded by the Ancients, the spirits of great barbarians, and their mortal descendants. The World Stone is corrupted by Baal, who wishes to make it into a permanent open link between Hell and the Mortal Realm. You get to see the World Stone in the last part of Act V, in the World Stone Chamber. You must kill Baal, and then the archangel Tyrael appears and makes you a portal to leave. You then go into a cinematic wherein the World Stone is destroyed by Tyrael to prevent it becoming a tool of Hell.
