World Conservation Award

The World Conservation Award is issued by many of the national Scout associations affiliated to the World Organization of the Scout Movement, and was created in conjunction with the World Wildlife Fund, partially in response to the rise in popularity of Green Scouting, sometime prior to 1977.

The World Conservation Award is a badge awarded to Scouts in the Boy Scouts of America when they have completed the Environmental Science, Citizenship in the World, and either Soil and Water Conservation or Fish and Wildlife Management merit badges.
The award is worn on the right breast pocket as a temporary patch (as opposed to the rank patch on the other breast pocket).[1]
Background colors have been amber, mint green, and now black.
