[edit] Wordly Wise sections
There are many different editions and variations of Wordly Wise workbooks, seen here. The edition being described is the Wordly Wise 3000 version.
Wordly Wise has many makers and one of them is Keneth Hodkinson & Joseph G. Ornato. Each book has many levels. There are Books 1-9; 9 is the most difficult. Each book consists of about 20 lessons. Each lesson has 5 sections that are labeled alphabetically.
Section A is commonly an exercise where you pick two half-sentence sections that include one Wordly Wise Word out of four choices. There are normally ten problems. For each question, you write it out as well and circle or highlight the two half-sentence choices.
The next section is called B, which consists of 10 questions as well, and each problem is a fill-in-the-blank sentence. There is a sentence, and one part of it is italicized, which is what you are supposed to cross out and replace with one Wordly Wise word.
Section C consists of 20 problems, and it's typically a problem where they give you a sentence with a word in it, and you choose which definitions make the sentence correct.
Section D differs in some books book one has a fill in the blank exercise while books 2 through 9 have an exercise that consists of 10 problems and you choose two out of four words that you think are either synonyms or antonyms. You highlight or circle the two words and a corresponding A or S which shows that they're either synonyms or antonyms.
The next section is E; Section E is a very long section which tests reading comprehension skills. E has a narrative which uses all 15 Wordly Wise words in that lesson. There are 15 comprehension questions that correspond to the narrative. If a Wordly Wise word is used in the question, then you must answer the question without using a Wordly Wise word. However if a Wordly Wise word is not used in the question, then you must use a Wordly Wise word to answer the question. In the end, you should have 15 questions with answers, and throughout the questions and answers each 15 Wordly Wise word should be used only once.
After four lessons, there is either a crossword puzzle or a hidden message that use words from the past four lessons.
