Wolf (Boy Scouts of America)

Wolf is a rank attainable by by a Scout in the Cub Scout division of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), and ranks above Tiger and below Bear. After earning the Bobcat badge, second-grade aged Cub Scouts work toward the Wolf badge[1] and then earn Arrow Points[2].

The British Scouts adoped the Wolf Cubbing program in 1916. In 1918, the first unofficial Wolf Cub packs appeared in the US. Experimental Cubbing units began in 1928 and in 1930 the BSA began registering the first packs. The original Wolf badge was white on red felt and the new cloth version of the Wolf badge was introduced in 1972. The Wolf program was originally for age 9, later changed to age 8, and in 1986 became associated with second grade boys.
