Wolf & Cub is a psychedelic indie rock band from Adelaide, Australia. Their music is predominantly stoner rock with elements of punk and metal. An interesting aspect of the band's music and aesthetic is their use of two drummers. This allows the percussive elements of the music to feature more prominentley alongside the guitar.
They are signed to Australian record label Dot Dash and are represented by Remote Control Records. Their debut album Vessels was released in Australia on September 2nd, 2006. 4AD are set to release the album overseas in early 2007. Prior to their debut album, they released two EPs; Wolf and Cub and Steal Their Gold.
Their name derives from a comic from Japan called "Lone Wolf and Cub".
The group's popularity has increased both locally and overseas since international producers Paul Epworth and Minotaur Shock remixed Wolf and Cub tracks, Steve Lamacq bestowed Single Of The Week status on them at BBC radio, and the group signing a licensing agreement with UK label 4AD.
