WolfWrath (チリドッグ Chili Dog?) is a fictional guest character in the Kirby: Right Back at Ya! anime. It is a wolf-like monster with red fur, a green jewel-like stone on its forehead, pink spikes on its back, and glowing, yellow eyes. It appears in the episode "Loyalty! Sword and Blade", aired in the USA as "Sword and Blade, Loyal and True", a.k.a. "Hour of the WolfWrath". Its name is simply a combination of the words wolf, since it's a wolf itself, and wrath, which derives from everyone's anger. Its Japanese name is the name of a certain food (see chili dog), and is also the English name of the hot dog Foodon from another anime, Fighting Foodons. WolfWrath is one of the most popular villains in the Kirby anime because of its dispected attractive "cuteness" which has attracted so many fans.

[edit] Background

WolfWrath is one of the Cloaked Nightmare's most dangerous and strongest monsters. It is a nasty and ferocious canine who attacks its enemies by biting (which may paralyze its victim), clawing, batting with its paws, and blowing fireballs. According to the Salesguy, WolfWrath doesn't take too well to training; it's "kind of a hot dog" and if anyone tries to train it, he/she'll get burned. It also sets fires for a very important reason; according to Blade Knight, it does so to get power, and according to Sword Knight and the NME Salesman, it also needs to do so to regain its strength. Its eyes and stone glow especially when it sees the target it's looking for, and it has heat vision, being a fire monster itself. It can also see through smoke, giving it a great advantage over its enemies. However, since WolfWrath is a fire monster, it has one weakness; water, in which it will panic and quickly move around in pain for no reason if it touches it, no matter how big the body of water is. Its type is Flame.

[edit] Profile

WolfWrath was famous for attacking Sword Knight and Blade Knight when they were about to rob Meta Knight since they were bandits anyway, after which MK saved them both by leading WolfWrath into a lake.

Many years later, WolfWrath was delivered to King Dedede by the NME Salesman. Dedede wanted WolfWrath to get rid of Kirby, but it responded with a snarl, blew a fireball at the wall behind the King and Escargoon, and got away from them both. Dedede was angry and hoped that WolfWrath better not wreck his castle, while saying that it was not a doghouse, so he ordered that the whole castle be locked up so WolfWrath doesn't escape. Later, WolfWrath attacked Tuff and Kirby while they were playing soccer, and Meta Knight stepped in to save them. While Sword and Blade escorted both of them and Tiff somewhere in the castle, MK and WolfWrath had a fight of sword vs. claw and fire attacks. Meanwhile, Dedede and Escargoon were watching, and they were angry because WolfWrath was fighting MK and not Kirby, and Dedede thought that MK should "mind his own fleas-wax and let WolfWrath turn Kirby into toast". As MK and WolfWrath moved into the castle walls, they did a clash in midair and Meta Knight fell, paralyzed and badly injured by its attacks. He was shown with one of WW's fangs in his forehead, and using his last breath before losing consciousness, MK ordered Sword and Blade to protect Kirby no matter what. Sword and Blade agreed and went to find WolfWrath, who was headed for the kitchen. After Waddle Doo and the Waddle Dees left bringing 10 different courses for Dedede (the last 10 different courses they served him were, according to him, un-appetizing), WolfWrath fell into the stove and set a fire there. Sword and Blade engaged in combat with WW but were overwhelmed thanks to its capability of seeing through the smoke. Kirby sucked up the smoke, allowing Sword and Blade to get away, and blew it back at WolfWrath when Tiff told him to.

WolfWrath was later seen destroying more of the castle. This made Dedede really mad, so mad that he finally decided to kick the monster out of the castle. So the Waddle Dees went to work, putting out the fires with their hoses and turning on all water sprinklers and opening the whole castle. Of course, what they didn't know was that WW didn't seem to like water much, so it got out of the castle walls. Sword and Blade jumped down from the ramparts, challenging WolfWrath again. Kirby also wanted to help, so he grabbed Galaxia, the same sword he used to defeat Kirisakin and help avenge Sirica's mother Garlude's death much later in the series, from Meta Knight's sheath and jumped down after Sword and Blade. Tiff called the Warpstar, and using it, he shoved WolfWrath out of the castle. WW ran away from the castle only to run into a river. Sword and Blade charged WolfWrath, who escaped from both of them only to be clobbered by Kirby using Galaxia, though he then threw them both in the air for his trouble. Kirby inhaled Galaxia and became Galaxia Kirby (Sword Kirby with Galaxia, who Kirby also became when battling Kirisakin later in the series), got back on the Warpstar and blocked WolfWrath's fireballs while also getting it to shove its foot into the river without knowing it. Sword and Blade remembered WolfWrath's last defeat, and after one of WW's fireballs knocked Kirby off the Warpstar again, Sword and Blade wrestled WW into the water. Kirby got back up, got back on the Warpstar again, and after WW threw Sword and Blade away from it, he used the Galaxia Sword Beam, which stopped the fireball WW blew at it and hit WW. WolfWrath, weakened by the water in the river and sliced cleanly in half by the Galaxia Sword Beam, exploded, just like many other Nightmare Enterprises Monsters do when they're defeated. The fang that WW embedded into Meta Knight's forehead which paralyzed him also broke and disintegrated not long after WW's explosion, much to the delight of Tiff & Tuff's family and Fololo & Falala.
