98.3 WLNH is radio station located in Gilford, NH that broadcasts to the Lakes Region and Concord, NH. The format is known as "New Hampshire's Biggest Variety" which spans music from the 80's all the way up to today's hit music. 98.3 WLNH is owned by Nassau Broadcasting.
WLNH is also know for it's statewide competition New Hampshire Idol. A smaller version of the highly successful American Idol, NH Idol takes residents in NH ages 16 - 30 and have them compete singing to songs much like American Idol. The 2006 winner was Jacob Heal who won the grand prize of having a demo cd produced by Virgin Records.
Recently WLNH has changed its format to "New Hampshire's Official Christmas Music Station." WLNH started playing non-stop Christmas Music on November 23rd and will continue through December 25th ending at Midnight. The only pause in Christmas Music will come between December 12th and December 17th when WLNH will begin their long time standing WLNH Children's Auction.
The WLNH Children's Auction is a nationally registered 501c3 organization. Last year, WLNH was able to raise $181,000 all for the local community. Now in there 24th year, WLNH has brought in over one million dollars for the community. The WLNH Children's Auction relies heavily on the community and local organizations for help. Contributors generously gave over 2,300 items, enabling WLNH Children's Auction to raise $181,616 for local charities to distribute within the community.
