[edit] Question about signal strength
I recall the station's upgrade from 1kW to 5kW occurring when the station switched frequencies from 1600 kHz to 580 kHz. But the Business North Carolina article, published in 2002, indicates the jump to 5kW happened just a year earlier, which would have been 2001. I've not been able to find a history of station changes on the FCC's site. DL77 20:10, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
On further reflection, the station's initial power must have been only 500 watts, and the initial jump in signal strength was to 1,000 watts. I definitely recall that the change from 1600 kHz to 580 kHz was due to the increase in watts. DL77 14:28, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
