WIXV-FM (I-95, The Rock of Savannah) is a classic-leaning Rock formatted station targeted to Savannah, Georgia. It is owned by Cumulus Broadcasting. The format is about 75% general classic rock with about 25% newer artists (often referred to as "future classics") such as REM, Pearl Jam, and the Black Crowes. The current rock format has been on the air since 1986, when they took the format from 97.3 (known as 97 Rock). Since Cumulus took ownership in 1997, the station is consistently more classic rock whereas its former owners blended classic rock with new rock in a much more varied way.
