With Oden on Our Side is the sixth full-length album released by the melodic death metal band Amon Amarth. It was recorded in May and June of 2006 and was released in Europe on September 22, 2006. A limited edition release was also made which has a second disc that includes live songs, demos and unreleased recordings. The song Runes to my Memory was made into a music video. It is the only song on the album so far to have a music video. The album takes on a heavier approach compared to their previous album Fate of Norns, with almost death metal sections. On the other hand, tracks such as "Valhall Awaits Me" and "Cry of the Black Birds" demonstrate a use of syncopation, arpeggio, and melody reminiscent of recent releases from Gothenburg melodic death metal groups such as Dark Tranquillity.
