The Wishing-Chair series by Enid Blyton contains three books:

  • Adventures of the Wishing-Chair, first published in 1937
  • The Wishing-Chair Again, first published in 1950
  • More Wishing-Chair Stories, first published in 2000

Adventures of the Wishing-Chair has the distinction of being Enid Blyton's first full-length book — although it is episodic in nature. Mollie and Peter, searching for a birthday present for their mother, find a mysterious antiques shop which appears to be run by fairy folk. There they find a magic wishing chair with the power to grow wings and fly. The remainder of the book concerns the adventures of the children and a pixie called Chinky, whom the children rescue from a giant early in the book. The sequel, "The Wishing Chair Again" concerns further adventures of the same children. The Wishing-Chair was captured and the had to get it back from the giant Twisty. They also befriend a naughty brownie called Winks, who gets them into all sorts of trouble. In More Wishing Chair Stories Mollie and Peter are home for the mid-term break and Chinky and the Wishing-Chair are ready to fly away with them to magical lands. They visit the Land of Wishes and the Land of Chatterboxes, but perhaps the best adventure of them all is helping Santa Claus deliver presents on Christmas Eve.
